Church of All Saints Who Shone Forth in the Land of Russia

The feast of the Synaxis of All Saints who have shone forth in the Russian Land holds a special place in the heart of an Orthodox Christian. Established in the 16th century but forgotten during the Synodal period, this commemoration was restored in 1918. Since 1946, it has been solemnly celebrated on the second Sunday after Pentecost. The heart of the celebration is the grateful glorification and prayerful appeal to the host of “all-blessed and God-wise saints of God,” who sanctified our Fatherland with their lives and spiritual labors. The saints are our heavenly intercessors and kin, who pray before God for their descendants. The church in Cheremushki is dedicated to this collective feast. In 2012, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Church of All Saints Who Have Shone Forth in the Russian Land in Cheremushki was included in the program for the construction of Orthodox churches in Moscow. On April 15, 2013, Bishop Feofilakt of Dmitrov, head of the Southwestern Vicariate, blessed the installation of a Veneration Cross on the church grounds in honor of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church. Parishioners actively supported the initiative, and on July 5, 2013, a six-meter oak Cross was installed with collected donations and solemnly consecrated the following day. In 2016, a stone church of All Saints Who Have Shone Forth in the Russian Land, designed for 500 people, was built, along with a clergy house. The Great Consecration of the new church was performed by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on March 12, 2017. The parish is actively engaged in missionary and social work, as well as youth outreach. The parish runs the A.V. Suvorov Sunday School and a youth club.
