Polyarnaya Street


The exploration of the Russian North is a feat of brave travelers who have made the most important geographical discoveries for our country. The names of our heroes, polar explorers and explorers of the Russian North, are immortalized in the names of Moscow streets. One of the most famous streets is Polyarnaya.

Polyarnaya Street is a street in the city of Moscow in the districts of Yuzhnoye Medvedkovo and Severnoye Medvedkovo of the Northeastern Administrative District. It runs from the 2nd Medvedkovsky Bridge to the Polar Passage. It was named in 1964 after its location in the northern part of Moscow in honor of the polar heroes and legendary Arctic explorers. Polyarnaya Street runs north, starting from the 2nd Medvedkovsky Bridge over the Yauza River, and is a continuation of Kolskaya Street. Traffic along the entire length of the street is two–way.
