Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Mosrentgen

The Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of the Mosrentgen factory is a parish Orthodox church located in the village of Mosrentgen in the Novomoskovsky district of Moscow. It belongs to the Odigitrievsky deanery of the Moscow Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Govorovo was founded under M. F. Streshnev. The construction was completed by Duma clerk Avtonom Ivanovich Ivanov in the 1680s, and the consecration took place in 1696. After the construction was completed, the village of Govorovo received a new name — the village of Troitskoye. In 1823, under the landowner I. N. Tyutchev, the St. Nicholas chapel was added to the church. In the 19th century, the architecture of the church underwent changes, acquiring elements of classicism. Before the Soviet period, there was practically no information about the temple. During the Soviet years, the building was used for living quarters and a laboratory at the Institute of Physics of the Earth of the USSR Academy of Sciences. During this period, the interiors of the temple were severely damaged, and the frescoes were lost. Divine services resumed on October 14, 1993, and the church was rededicated on June 30, 1996. It was performed by Bishop Gregory Mozhaisky, vicar of the Moscow Diocese. After the opening, large-scale restoration work began. New iconostases and kiosks were installed in both chapels, the bell tower was restored, arches were erected over the entrance gates and the temple grounds were landscaped. In 2003, the chapel of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul was opened at the temple on the territory of the Teplosten shopping and construction complex. The chapel, attributed to the Trinity Church, is a stone insulated building located at the intersection of the MKAD, Kaluga highway and the road leading to the village of Mosrentgen. On June 27, 2010, after the restoration of the St. Nicholas Chapel was completed, its consecration took place. The rite of consecration was performed by Metropolitan Juvenal of Krutitsky and Kolomna.
