Monument-Ensemble in Honour of the Outstanding Achievements of Ten Fronts and Three Fleets, as well as Partisans, Underground Workers and Home Front Workers Participating in the Final Stage of the Great Patriotic War

The memorial ensemble, which is formed by 15 memorial steles on Poklonnaya Gora, is an integral part of it. It perpetuates all those who contributed to the Victory over Nazism. Nine-meter granite steles are installed in honour of the merits of ten fronts and three fleets, partisans, underground workers and home front workers. The colonnade appeared here for the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory in May 2005. The memorial ensemble was opened on the eve of Victory Day, May 7, in the presence of President Vladimir Putin. The authors of the monument are two recognized masters: the People’s Artist of Russia Zurab Tsereteli and the People’s Architect of Russia Mikhail Posokhin. According to the authors, each stele is located on the base. There is a bas-relief with a characteristic image and the name of the front, military rank and the name of the commander in its centre. The base of the column is wrapped with a St. George ribbon, and a bronze composition of banners is installed on top of the stele. The steles are arranged according to the order in which the consolidated regiments of the fronts were built at the Victory Parade of 1945. The inscriptions on the bas – reliefs of the columns read:
