Monument Globe of the planet Earth and globe of the Universe


The Monument Globe of the planet Earth and the globe of the Universe is a model of the globe with the largest cities of different countries of the world marked. It contains two quotes by K.E. Tsiolkovsky: «The impossible today will become possible tomorrow» and «The Earth is the cradle of reason, but you cannot live forever in the cradle». To the right of the monument to the Globe of the planet Earth is the Globe of the Universe with the constellations depicted on it. The monument is located in the Cosmopark. It consists of a central, memorial alley and walking paths branched off from it. The alley got its name in 1972. Its designers were architects Mikhail Barsch and Alexander Kolchin. There are 14 monuments to the heroes of Russian cosmonautics, including monuments to engineers, designers in the field of rocket technology Sergei Korolev and Valentin Glushko, busts of cosmonauts Yuri Gagarin, Valentina Tereshkova, Pavel Belyaev, Alexei Leonov, as well as other space explorers. On the central alley there are flower beds and pedestals in the form of stars with engraved important dates in the history of space exploration.
