The Battle of Stalingrad became one of the decisive battles of the Great Patriotic War. The Nazi invaders suffered heavy losses and were forced to retreat from the North Caucasus and abandon Stavropol, Kuban, Rostov‑on‑Don.

The monument is dedicated to the feat of soldiers from the 13th Moscow Rifle Division of the Rostokinsky district People’s Militia and depicts two militia members: a young fighter supports a wounded senior comrade.

The two-figure sculpture group “Intercosmos” is a composition dedicated to the first Soviet-Czechoslovak space crew. It symbolizes friendship between the USSR and Czechoslovakia.
